Barbara Cottman-Jackson
Singer, composer and recording artist, Barbara performs most frequently in her own hometown, Philadelphia. Her experiences in various musical and theatrical venues have earned her the reputation as a gifted songstress with an amazing range. Barbara is at home performing sacred, jazz, classical, R&B, blues and other types of music. She has performed from Cleveland to Cancun and has worked with many highly respected musicians, appearing in clubs, concert and private event venues, including Zanzibar Blue, The PECO Jazz Festival and Longwood Gardens. Her classical voice has taken her much into choir, choral, television, radio and theatrical work. She appeared in such plays such as Finian's Rainbow, Sugar, Promises, Promises, God's Trombones and Ballad for Americans. She is a member of Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown. Currently, she is working on several CD projects featuring some of her original music and lyrics. She thanks God for her gift of song and the many fine folks and musicians who have encouraged and aided her musical journey. Barbara is a regular soloist at Sunday services here at St John's |
