ST JOHN 'S MINISTRY OF MUSIC
Music is magnificent at St John's .
If you're looking for a church whose worship music truly celebrates the glory of God with depth, variety, excellence and integrity you've found it.
Each Sunday worship service is a new experience in great music. Excellence in our music is matter of spiritual integrity. Not only are our musicians masters of their art form, they are also deeply spiritual people who place their talents in God's service week by week.
EVERY SUNDAY MORNING , you may hear the praises of God in styles that circle the globe, and that celebrate 2000 years of church history. Before the service is over, your spirit might taste heaven in a Bach fugue, a Gregorian chant, a hymn in reggae rhythm, a jazz anthem, a gospel solo, and plenty of traditional hymns. We are blessed with gifted teaching artists who make diverse styles part of the sacred repertoire of St John's worship.
EVERY THIRD SUNDAY MORNING , at our regular morning worship service, 10:30 AM, the featured style is Jazz & Gospel. TYRONE BROWN, a jazz legend, and world-renowned bass performer and composer plays for our morning worship service, with Pete Vinson on percussion, Hideo Morris on vibes, and special guests, along with our regular musicians, all breathe an awakening vitality into worship. That's each 3 rd Sunday of the month.
EVERY FIRST SUNDAY EVENING JAZZ VESPERS, at 7 PM. This is a ministry for musicians by musicians. Jim Holton, Adam Pfannenstiel, and Justin Sekelewski form the base band, with several guests each month. Musicians are invited to come and play.
